“Entrepreneurial Attitude”

Paola Gallardo

How to cultivate an entrepreneurial attitude?

In these times of great uncertainty, have you taken a moment to explore what you truly want? What deeply inspires you, or are you caught in an endless pause, waiting for something to happen? Which of these states do you identify with? Because, depending on where you stand, that is the reality you’re creating and recreating over and over again…

If you already have a business, take a moment to reflect: Is this truly what you’re passionate about? If the answer is yes, but you’re not seeing the desired results, take a closer look at your past or present successes. What qualities or behaviors led to those achievements? Perhaps it was the determination with which you said, “I’m going to achieve this, no matter what,” and within you, there was no other possibility. It could also have been your courage, responsibility, and focus. Reflect on who you were being when you created those extraordinary results—a passionate, dedicated individual, full of energy, enthusiasm, and optimism. Remember who you were in those moments of success, and reconnect with the feelings of joy and fulfillment. Take a moment to bring those emotions into the present…

Also, reflect on your failures, particularly the ones that are most significant to you. If you can learn from them, chances are you won’t repeat those same patterns of behavior. Instead, you’ll harness that learning as a powerful source of strength. Write down the lessons you’ve gained and allow yourself to be filled with that energy. Connect with your personal power and reflect on how you emerged from those moments. Once again, consider the kind of man or woman you were in order to overcome them.

This is what I call a true "Entrepreneurial Attitude"—the ability to pause, look honestly within
ourselves, and connect with our personal resources, many of which we tend to overlook or completely ignore.

Did you know that for many people, earning a professional degree, completing a master’s program, proposing marriage or being proposed to, having a child, running a marathon, knitting a vest, painting a picture, starting a business, and countless other seemingly small yet significant accomplishments represent tremendous achievements in their lives? Often, we fail to recognize the value of these milestones because they don’t seem like “great results.”

An “Entrepreneurial Attitude” is one that harnesses the power to rise again and again from a place of responsibility and humility, assessing what works and what doesn’t in order to transform it. It involves listening to feedback as valuable input, making adjustments where needed, or reinforcing what is already working well. Ultimately, it takes ownership and refrains from blaming others.

Part of this “Entrepreneurial Attitude” is focusing on the creation of the Here and Now, without getting stuck in the past or viewing what didn’t work from a victim’s perspective.

More than simply changing something, I invite you to create something—whatever is important to you. Creation itself carries an energy of renewal, and your focus should be centered on the dream or the goal. To do this, you must continue embodying this “Entrepreneurial Attitude” through your commitment; that is, if something is going to be done, it depends on you. It also requires perseverance, openness—accessing new paradigms and leaving behind those that no longer serve you—and flexibility, in the broadest sense, using
everything new to your advantage (acceptance of reality is key and liberates you). You must have a purpose, a “why” behind what you do, which is vital. It’s what will sustain you when everything seems to collapse. And, lastly, you must have confidence in yourself and trust in the process of life as part of your evolution.

Finally, something very important that shows you have an excellent “Entrepreneurial Attitude” is contributing your best to your family, your company, your environment, your community, and the world. Making ecological decisions that benefit both you and others is a crucial aspect of embodying this attitude… success without fulfillment equals failure.

The answers are within you…
